Welcome to Our Junior Cricket Section

At Chipping Sodbury we take pride in having one of the leading junior cricket setups in the region, offering a fantastic environment for young players to thrive. Our growing junior section welcomes players of all abilities and experience. We are committed to creating a safe, supportive, and fun environment where young cricketers can develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy the game.

Our club is dedicated to nurturing talent and firmly believes in the importance of youth development for the future of Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club. We provide a seamless pathway for young players, starting with the ECB’s All Stars programme, progressing into junior hard ball cricket, and ultimately transitioning into senior cricket to ensure every young player has the chance to reach their full potential and continue their journey in the game.

Our Coaching Set Up

At Chipping Sodbury Cricket Club, we understand that quality coaching is the cornerstone of player development and success. Our volunteers knowledge and passion for the game inspire our young cricketers and provide invaluable insights into the world of competitive cricket. As a clear demonstration of the Club’s commitment to Junior coaching, we’ve invested significantly in our partnership with South Glos Cricket Coaching, who design and deliver our comprehensive pre-season training programme. This collaboration also provides our players with access to discounted rates for one-to-one coaching sessions, ensuring personalised support to help them excel. Complementing this expertise, we are proud to have two overseas players with first-class cricket experience contributing to our youth section coaching. Below, you can meet our talented coaching team and learn more about the individuals dedicated to helping our players thrive.

Join Us

We take pride in fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for young cricketers of all experience levels and abilities. We are committed to creating opportunities for all players to enjoy and develop their skills in the game. To ensure a high-quality experience for everyone we are mindful of maintaining appropriate player-to-coach ratios and considering the available match opportunities, which can vary across different age groups. These factors are essential for providing safe and enjoyable cricketing experiences.

New players are invited to attend three sessions free of charge and without any commitment to join. These sessions allow players to experience our club’s environment and ensure they feel comfortable and enthusiastic before any financial commitment is required. At the conclusion of these sessions, the club will review the current situation, including player numbers and match opportunities, and have an open and honest conversation with the player and their family about what opportunities are available at that time. We want to emphasize that we are not an elitist club. Our mission is to create opportunities for all players, regardless of ability or experience, to enjoy cricket and develop in a supportive and encouraging environment.

If you are interested in joining the club, please complete this form. We look forward to welcoming new members to the Chipping Sodbury family.
