What does CSCC have for children?

As an introduction at the youngest ages, under 8, we run the ECB initiative called All Stars details of which are here. After, and alongside, these our junior section is divided into groups spanning two years, i.e. Under 9s, Under 13s and Under 15s, with each group led by ECB qualified coaches. These are for boys and girls, but we also run teams dedicated to girls as we know that many girls prefer this, though all are encouraged to train and play with boys this is not forced. The children will initially go into groups based on their age at the ECB cut off date, which is September 1st on the previous season, i.e. for the 2022 season this is September 1st 2021, and will progress through the age groups as they get older.

There will, though, be players that are very capable and show the attitude needed to play at a higher level, so they may move up year groups. We will also enter the more capable into trials for county representative squads. As a general rule training for juniors is on Friday evenings from around 6.15pm, with a BBQ and open bar, there is also girls training on Monday evenings, and some of the more accomplished players will be invited to train with the seniors, and, indeed play in adult teams when their coaches and guardians feel is appropriate.
